The Agricultural Institute of Slovenia has a long-standing tradition of breeding its own potato varieties. In 1993, we launched a new breeding program and have since developed 15 new potato varieties, while several promising hybrids are currently undergoing the registration process.
IC Komenda is one of the four units of the Department of Infrastructure, Research and Knowledge Transfer, serving as the central hub for potatoes at the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia. The center is equipped with a modern, computer-controlled storage facility featuring forced-air cooling, which enables us to supply high-quality seed potatoes well into late spring.
The following are available for purchase on-site:
- Seed potatoes
- Ware potatoes and
- Feed potatoes.
More information about the available offer can be found on the Potatoes (Krompir) subpage.
Infrastructure and Equipment
