In 2011, the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia was joined by the Centre for the Agriculture and Rural Development Jable, which in 2013 was renamed the Infrastructure Centre Jablje. With the merger, the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia consolidated its reputation as the central scientific research and expert institution in the field of agriculture in Slovenia that is successfully implementing and transferring new scientific findings into agricultural practice.
In May 2023 The Infrastructural Centre Jablje was renamed into the Department for Infrastructure, Research and Knowledge Transfer. The department is divided into the Infrastructure Centre Jablje (Centre for Research and Trials and the Centre for Technology Transfer), Infrastructure Centre Komenda, Infrastructure Centre Brdo and Infrastructure Centre Ptuj.
