Introduction
The Official Certification Service for Agricultural Plants (SUP) is an independent organisational unit of the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia (KIS). Since 2013, SUP has acted as the national certification body for seed and planting material of agricultural plants.
SUP operates under public authorisation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia – the Administration for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection (MKGP–UVHVVR).
Our work ensures that seed and planting material placed on the market meets the required quality standards and complies with national and EU legislation. Together with the Seed Quality Control Laboratory, SUP carries out official certification procedures, inspections, sampling, laboratory testing, post-control testing and the storage of standard seed samples.
Areas of work
Official certification of seed and planting material: - agricultural seed (including cereals, fodder plants, beet, oilseeds and fibre plants), vegetable seed, seed potatoes, grapevine, fruit plants and hops,
