Visit of the Ambassador of India to the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia
Her Excellency Mrs. Namrata S. Kumar and representatives from GBPU, India during their visit to KIS
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia (KIS) was visited by Her Excellency Mrs. Namrata S. Kumar, the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Slovenia. The visit, which also included Dr Ajeet Singh Nain, Director of Research, and Dr Pramod Mall, Professor and Head Entomology and expert of Honeybee, both from India's GBPU (Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology) in Pantnagar, took place as part of efforts to foster professional and research collaboration between the institutions in the field of agriculture, particularly beekeeping.
The host, Dr Andrej Simončič, Director of the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, along with Dr Janez Prešern, Head of the Animal Production Department and leader of the beekeeping group at KIS, and the guests also discussed the programs and knowledge transfer of the Beekeeping Academy of Slovenia, which operates under KIS. During their professional visit to Slovenia, the Indian representatives from GBPU also attended the international agricultural and food fair AGRA in Gornja Radgona and met with representatives of the Veterinary Faculty and the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association.
